The Maz 8 gets the call for tomorrow night's first concert of the season. We're squeezing our 18 piece band into a nursing home out in Lapeer MI and doing a free benefit for the folks there. After a lengthy hospital stay I spent three or four days in one and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. UGGGGH. I never want to check into one again, ever...and I'm glad that we can bring some good times to the patients there. The 8 sounds so good with my Gold Top / P90 that I might not hit my pedal board all night...and it's just the right power for a smallish venue. Should be fun!

What style of music do you play? Everything from 30's big band thru Sinatra thru Earth Wind & Fire, to Chicago. It's been a great learning experience for an old blues hack like me. I wouldn't call myself a jazz guitarist...yet. It's a whole different game! Lots of fun, the youngest member is in his mid 40's.

Good on you guys, Dave, for playing for the "folks!" Will really put a lot of smiles on some otherwise sad faces!

It was really great. We crammed the band into a little "living room" area of the home and let 'em have it. They loved it, and the Maz 8 was perfect for the gig. I had the Vol up around 2:00 and the Master was at 9:30. It cut through the big mix perfectly. And that's with the old Studio cab, running a G12H30 driver. I was using my P-90 Goldtop 60's Tribute, and what a great combo those two were. I used my pedalboard one time, for the last chord in our finale. It sounded fantastic.

P-90's would be perfect for that. I got to play a bunch of '50's through early '60's stuff for a series of shows recently and have a real respect for those players back then.
