I posted a Z family pic in the lounge the other and since I rearainged our family my Therapy is set up and ready to play at a moments notice now. Honestly, I forgot how great this amp sounds. I have several Z amps and I am continually impressed with how much different they all sound from each and how great each one of them sounds. I plugged in my Therapy on Saturday after playing my Z Lux for the past couple of months and thought for sure I would be dissapointed . . . . in fact I was NOT dissapointed at all. I really impressed all over again. I played a couple of different guiltars and played around with the knobs when high gain to sparkly clear. With the treble turned up all the way this amp really get a very sweet glassy clean tone it. Man, it sounds great. I got a humbucker guitar out and played some Rush but even with that guitar I was able to adjust the volume and get the amp to clean up really well. Its hard getting multiple amps enough playing time but it you own a few, take the time to warm them up once in a while and let yourself fall in love all over again!! God bless, Todd

Todd what speakers/cab are you using? The local store has a Therapy and honestly it's been hit or miss for me. It sounded awesome through an Orange 2x12 with v30s. It gave me the "aha" moment of this is a killer amp. I wasn't as impressed when I tried it again with a Z 1x12 (not sure on the speaker). Same with a Mesa 4x12. It seems like an amp that has a lot of potential but I seem to have trouble dialing it in. My Maz on the other hand I can dial in in seconds and have a tone I love pretty much instantly. Do you prefer open or closed back cabs?
Thanks, Eric

I use a WGS G12A for the clean Fender tones and an ASW KTS70 for the crunchy rock tones.
I have a WGS Veteran 30 as well that I'm on the fence about.

Do you prefer open or closed back cabs? Thanks, Eric I like open back cabs, although I do love the thump of a nice cranked closed back 4x12. With my Therapy I really like my 2x12 open back loaded with V30's. Doc Z has posted that he likes this speaker with the Therapy too. I have a 2x12 wuth Greenbacks that are a lot quieter and still sound really good but I like the V30's better. I also prefer to run this amp treble and mid heavy on the tone controls. My eyes dont like it but my ears sure do. One more thing to note. As good as the MV is on this amp it does sound better when the output tubes are pushed more. I am really tempted to use my brake lite more and my MV less so I can push the tubes more. I hope this helps Todd

+1000 on what Todd says. A little attenuation goes a long way with the Therapy.

My dilemma in spades- and I'm going to get my EMS tomorrow! Wouldn't this be considered "Hording"? Just saying....

If that's hoarding then all prior negativity associated with that word is hereby suspended. Hoarding is now a positive thing, something to strive for. Ready to come over and try the EMS???
