Stupidly, at a gig a few days ago I forgot to plug the amp-to-speaker cable from my Maz Sr head to my 1x12 cab. Switched off standby and wondered why there was no sound. Did it twice before I realised my mistake. The amp was off standby for no longer than probably 30 seconds. It works fine still, but should I be worried?
Thanks!

I've done that before, luckily nothing bad happened as a result.

The classic story here happened long ago when one of Phil's little kiddos powered up his Carmen Ghia (unbeknownst to Phil) for a day or so....IIRC, it had no speaker attached either..... Amp was fine.... Doc overbuilds....thankfully....

If it is working now you don't have a problem. The output jack is shorted when nothing is plugged into it to help prevent damage. Over the years I've done that several times with Fender amps and Z amp output x-formers are mostly even more heavy duty.

I agree with all the above. Not a worry Mick.

What everybody else said....plus don't make a habit of it Ha.... Eric, that's the key! Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest! I had read that story about that Ghia being left on for hours, so I wasn't really worried, and now I'm not at all. Life's good!
