Lately I've been using my Therapy with JJ 6v6 tubes. Just curious ... would it be safe to run a 25 watt speaker with that setup? I tried it with my Avatar A25 alnico (25 watts) and really like the sound.

I smoked a 40w speaker using the stock 6L6's, but I play loud. Your miles may vary, of course.

FWIW, the Avatar alnico 25w sounds amazing with the Therapy. --Similar to a Celestion Gold...maybe not quite as much high end. I may order their 50w version. Very impressed with the sound.

I like the 6V6's a lot in the Therapy,I also play loud and like power tube break up-but haven't gone below a 50 watt speaker. If you have a bridge p-90 guitar try that out with the 6V6's,it's great for raw rock and roll, alt country,or any American music that's a bit on the raw side.

I don't have any guitars with P-90's at this time... I've had a few over the years, and do like the sound. Might be something to add in the near future!

Just thought I would give an update...
After doing quite a bit of comparison between my Maz 18NR and my Therapy with 6v6 tubes through the Avatar A25, with the settings I use with the Therapy and the Maz 18, the Maz is as loud or louder than the Therapy. Switching to the JJ 6v6 has really tamed the Therapy (a good thing for me). So I've decided to use the speaker in a 1X12 cab with both amps. I'll update after I've had a chance to use it for a while in a variety of gigs.

Although the Therapy is a 35 watt amp, running it with 6V6 tubes would limit it to what those tubes will dissipate. A 6V6GT is supposed to be a 12 watt tube, equivalent to an EL84 which is what is in the MAZ 18. So a pair of 6V6's would get you about 24 watts. That speaker would be borderline but sometimes amps sound best just before something blows.
The Therapy is also cathode biased. Without actually taking measurements it's impossible to say how much power the amp will produce with those tubes. My guess is they are running a little cold so you may have some margin.

Update...After playing an especially LOUD gig (Master Volume was above 3 o'clock), I decided to go back to using 6L6 tubes. So... I pulled the Avatar 25 out and put a Celestion Gold in my 1X12 cab. I don't want to blow the speaker. FWIW, I really like the sound of the Avatar 25w alnico. I'll find a use for it!
