Been using the Remedy (no MV) for a LONG time as a gigging musician (serial #T 27128). Gotta say, it's one of the best amps I've ever plugged into. No, it's not a Marshall (I've had plenty of them), but it's much more versatile. It's got a great "edge of breakup" tone that can be pushed with a boost pedal for leads/saturation when needed.
The magic is in the "High" channel, imho. I rarely have the "Normal" channel above 9-10 o'clock. The high channel is usually at noon or a bit higher. Interestingly, all of my EQ settings are usually well below 12 o'clock. I usually run the Rem at 1/2 power. With these settings, a telecaster on full volume will be on the verge of breakup and a Les Paul will be slightly crunchy. This allows me to play everything from clean country picking (by rolling a tele vol knob back) to heavy rock (Les Paul) without touching a pedal.
I have many amps to choose from (blackface Fenders, Tweed Fenders, Marshalls, Mesas,...) but always grab the Rem for most gigs. What I like best is that the Rem cleans up nicely yet keeps it's character when you roll the guitar's vol back. Can't say that about most amps.
I've played the MV Rems, but there is something about the NMV Rem that shines. The MV Rem doesn't get clean enough for my taste and seems to have a bit of fizz that can't be dialed out. The NMV Rem can be used as a clean platform in full power mode for low volume gigs (does that make sense?... LOL). Or, you can crank the High volume to 3 o'clock+ (with an attenuator if needed) for glorious hard rock/metal. It's a very versatile amp.

I know Mark swore that the non-MV was more special than the MV (he had them both at the same time).

I just bought a MV Remedy but haven't taken delivery. I thought it had been said that with the master full up it was the sonically identical to a NMV volume amp. Fizz? Where would that come from?

My favorite part of the Remedy I had was how good it would clean up, was really great sounding clean too.

Just used mine last Sat. (also an original non-MV)at an outdoor gig...I ALWAYS get compliments on my tone when I do. I've tried several different speaker combinations with it, but my current 2X10 Gold/Greenback cab is a keeper.
