So I play fairly loud. Loud enough to the point that I had to invest in a plexiglass shield to put in front of my cab. But still. My open big chords sound monstrous, but my single note playing still sounds.... fizzy. That is, until I crank the MV past the point of being too loud. Then, I put it on 20 watts to help aleviate the volume issue and its even more fizzy. Am I not pushing the speakers enough? Would Having lower watt speakers help? maybe I should go for a lower watt amp, maybe a Maz 18 or even an 8?
(PS. I'm running a Remedy in 40 watt mode [high vol: 1 o' clock, normal vol: 3 o' clock, Master vol: Noon] into a Dr. Z backline 2x12 loaded with celestion creambacks)

Less fizzy, to me means MV up and others down. Let the power amp work and less preamp distortion. I find there is more fizz on 20 watts. I found the MAZ 8 more distorted at higher (similar) volumes (8 vs 40 watts). I believe there is more fizz to be had in the MAZ circuit and the EL84 power section. I don't really like fizz or as I hear it, sizzle on the to end when I'm playing. This can be an issue as amps that give me the sound I like are generally powerful and I like them to be cooking good. This is too loud for many I play with 😠ME

Which doesnt really sit well with church audiences when youre running amps live on stage.

I too am in the resistance against fizziness. When i had my remedy, i ran the MV all the way up and let the power section do a lot of the lifting. Adjusted Pre amp gain(s) to taste, never generally past noon. That allowed a little smoother feel, especially with the tele. Of course, I ran an attenuator but it was agreed upon by our former sound man, and fellow guitarists.. it was the best damn tone around.
Stick a Brake-Lite in a cab and let er wail!

Fizzy tails on notes is my Kryptonite. It was quite prominent on my Remedy as well so I added a simple snubber circuit and it cured it completely. YMMV of course but it was the answer for me. Super easy and certainly worth a shot since it is only a few dollars in parts. snubby linky

Mine does the opposite, it sounds creamier in 20 Watt mode. I've read that it's because the tubes are in triode instead of pentode mode, but I'm not a technical guy, so, who knows...

Hopefully those Creambacks are breaking in nicely by now. They can be a bit fizzy/crispy on the top end when new.

I had this issue with the Rem, also. I solved it by selling the amp.
