Been hammering out the songs lately for a new record. This is a new demo the band will be working on. I recorded this mostly with the Therapy run through the Fryette Power Station, using my Z Drive to boost for the solo. Idle City - Deja Who?!

@irreversal, I liked the tune a lot. It has plenty of space and you can certainly image lyrics. That should be a good tune.
Do you have the Presence and Depth turned all the way down on the Power Station?
I see that the new version no longer has the Cathode Follower 1/2 power solid state switch. Too bad, that's a cool feature he shouldn't have changed on the new version.

I haven't found a use for them, yet. I did have the treble switch in the Brite position to add some sizzle to the recording, and the bass switch was set to Flat. If I use the Teles or Gretsches, I go the other way. Is the HI/LO switch what replaced the 1/2 power switch???

Frank, That was 1/2 Power Cathode Follower 1/2 power solid state rectifier pentode option was my Pocket Protecting Geeky Humor.

Song sounds good, and the tone too-more like building block tracks than demo's.

I think I remember from the Fryette sponsored demo that the Presence and Depth controls are flat at 12:00. That's basically where I run mine with my MAZ 8. They don't do all that much anyway. I don't think they are meant to change the character of the amp. Just compensate somewhat for perceived change due to volume differences. Still, I'm interested to see how other people are using their Power Stations. Thanks.

@irreversal, zpilot, I was surprised to see the setting's in San Diego and then hear the comment about lack of response and effect. I use mine in my studio which is small and I had thought that both Presence and Depth made a big difference to the EQ in the room. I tried it and confirmed that it does a have very noticeable response and it does help create a tone or sound that seems to adjust to my ears in my studio. I have to think about that concept a bit. I took the Power Station in the house and set it up on the Maz 8. Z-Pilot you are on to something as a performing rig, what a great flexibility you get out of that combo. So inside the house I had the Presence and Depth turned all the way off and then brought them both up. As I brought them up the amp really blossomed. The setting in the photo creates a volume and tone that seems to sit well in the environment, and it was a noticeable adjustment. It felt like I was able to adjust sound to make the amp sound slightly bigger or smaller in a correct proportion. The presence also brought out some highs that I was surprise by. Also, the little micro switches are extremely reactive in my experience. Thumbs up to the Power Station and the Maz, Therapy, DB4, 77 Silverface Princeton, /13, etc.. This is my Stereo rig, the amps are usually separated in the room. I don't use the Fryette with the stereo rig.

purpleteleI ordered up a new speaker for my Therapy cab. I think this is all linked to my post in the Therapy section about looking at new speakers. The Alessandro definitely does not respond to EQ at all anymore, whether from the amp or the Power Station. I noticed the EQ on the PS has more dramatic effect on the DB4 through Greenbacks or through a KTS70 than it does on the Therapy through the Alessandro.

Too bad on the longevity of the Eminence, maybe you can get a replacement or credit. Mine are going strong. Have you tried the Cream Alnico in anything? I like it much more than the Gold. I know you have some Jupiter's ordered which I don't know anything about.

Funny thing is, it still sounds good. Not great, but good!

Nice, liked the layering....acoustic, punchy rythm, then delayed brighter guitar.
