Hello folks, I'm long away from this forum until I found doc has this "new" Therapy AMP(oh yes it's just new to me) which delivery wonderful early tweed tones. I have a 2008 MAZ JR NR 2X10 combo which is absolutely versatility but still want to add a straight american style AMP in my gear.
I know that Therapy do tweed tones very well, but how about super or twin-like VERY-clean tones? I mainly play some blues licks, say, SRV things etc.. Also how about running it into my MAZ combo with 2x10 Z speakers? As I can't touch this AMP at my place, I'm very glad to hear some advise from people who use Therapy at this forum, any comments are appreciate,Thanks!

For straight cleans get the EZG or ZLux tweed amps while having great cleans at modest volume aren't as known for loud cleans

Actually EZG50 is just meets my needs on tone, but I'm really fear of it's loudly volume, so I looking for the Therapy to instead, as many others praise it's Master Volume design in low volume performance and more, cathode biased 6L6 seems much more easy to deal with. Maybe I just need to check the Zlux as you said.

I was a Maz Jr. Owner and switched to Therapy. First off, it's hard to get the cleans of a twin out of the Therapy but Therapy does do really clean and at respective volumes, or at least more volume than I need.
But here's the thing...I never bought the Therapy to emulate the Twin. I play Teles and I hate super cleans with my bridge pickup. I find that setting my volume at around 10:00 gives me just enough hair on the top of my highs that give my bridge pup bite without the sharpness.
I'm a huge SRV fan like most guitarists I guess. I gave up long ago trying to capture his tone. Now if that's what I was looking for I'd shoot for the EZG. However, with the Therapy on max clean and a Strat you can get in the neighborhood in my opinion. Add a vintage "green" pedal for dirt and your getting closer.

If it's cleans you are after with a good MV the ZLux should get that for you. I do love my Therapy but for straight cleans I would go Zlux.

Or you could get the Cure and have a blackface/Tweed option. I had the therapy and currently have the Z-lux and the Cure. The cure is great for home use and it also can handle gigs as well plus its super light. Great sounding amp and that level control is awesome.

Hi ss"Shane", Thanks for your useful and detailed information, that's exactly answered my question and really helps a lot! Then I may consider the Therapy a low powered, easy-to-push sweety other than clean machine. Though I have a weber attenuator, the Z-lux or Cure seems are more reasonable to me for home use and they have better definition of clean tones. Well, little more to say, I just love my MAZ and I'll never let it go, it just keep inspire me alot when I pulg on it with any guitar.
Cheers,Tan

Thanks your guys to make this thread very clear! After some research I decide focus on Cure, for it's most friendly wattage, light and portable studio combo, also simplest circuit! Well the price is very nice too at this point
