Hello there people! I'm new here, thanks for having me! I recently bought a Route 66 and a Z Best cab. (unfortunatly the cab wasn't available in the matching colour, waiting for the black one) What an amp! It certainly delivers everything you would expect and more! The only thing about it was the rectifier tube (EH 5u4) which had a rattle, so I replaced it with a Russian NOS coke bottle. Also took out the stock EF86 and changed it for a Philips EF86 Miniwatt. Glorious!! Big cleans, silent, no noise and the overdrive.... So big and filled with harmonic overtones... Awesome!!! Thanks dear people @ Dr Z!! Welcome and congratulations on a nice rig. I had the same for a while, until I traded the 66 for the antidote. The Rt 66 is a special amp. Enjoy the amp. Enjoy the people and info here.

Welcome and congratulations on a nice rig. I had the same for a while, until I traded the 66 for the antidote. The Rt 66 is a special amp. Enjoy the amp. Enjoy the people and info here. Did the same, then a Mini, MAZ 8, and now a Remedy. All good, just different. Changed to suit the band/playing I was doing. At this time I'd say I like the Remedy best, but I wouldn't mind having them all. Miss each one... ME

I don't get the opportunity to play at volumes that would allow me to appreciate the Docs loud amps. My Remedy stays on 20, I sold my 1st Z, a Maz 38, but I do love the demos and/or hearing a Z cranked up. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your tone monster!!
