I've got a Maz18 NR into a 210 semi-open cab, a RX Jr. 1x12 studio-size combo (compliments to Mather), and RedPlate Tweedyverb combo (current gigging amp)...and I'm on the prowl.
I REALLY love the thump a Stangray has and it's got way more clean headroom than will be necessary as I'm always mic'd for gigs, but the Therapy demos are just driving me crazy. I use pedals for most of my gain so I'm looking for that full, "pumped up" sound.
Maybe I'm missing the overlap between my Maz or Rx with the Stangray?? Or maybe I'm just jonesing to try the Therapy.
Open to comments and suggestions! Thanks.

As for the sound description of the Therapy I'll let you figure that out via other well versed members here and videos. I'll say this though, I've yet to find a video that's equal to how great the Therapy really is.
I will contribute in this way regarding this thread; my personal experience and opinion. Since I grew up as a drummer I've only owned several amps. They are the Fender Twin, Fender 59 RI Bassman, Fender BJ, Blues deluxe, 68RI Vibrolux, Maz 18 R, Carmen Ghia and the Therapy. Out of all the listed amps I have to honestly say that the Therapy is the king of them all. Maybe this will be in dispute here but rememeber, this is my opinion.
If you personaly knew me you would understand that I pay attention to tone more than anybody does in my area. I listen for tonal imperfections from great guitar players and can usually find something I don't like. I can go play out in "sit ins" and may not be the greatest but can always have the best tone with my Therapy, at least in my mind lol.
This amp has inspired me and made me better. Most great top notch gear does this for a player. I'm primarily a Tele guy but the Therapy is amazing with Strats, Pauls...etc.
Now let me state a fact...the Therapy will be marked as one of the greatest, if not the greatest amps ever created. Time will prove this. Good luck to you, welcome aboard and pay close attention to the members on this Forum.

Therapy will be very different than your tweedyverb. I use to own a early version tverb and while I liked it, it just was too boxy for me. Obviously the Therapy comes only in a head format so boxy will not be an issue.
The master on the Therapy is the best I have ever come across (including every Z I've owned) while the tverb gets to volume right away. The Therapy can be used from a bedroom to a large hall with ease, very versatile. You can get cleans out of the Therapy but the tverb has more headroom.
The cleans on the Therapy (or how I run it) are firm, stout, and always have a small amount of hair, in a good way. The Therapy cleans are more hifi and not as "hard" if that makes sense. The overdrive on the Therapy is waaaay smoother and stout.
People describe the Therapy as tweed based and I get that but it really is its own thing. Very unique design that the Dr put together.

I have owned countless amps over the years, many really, really, nice ones, to boot.
The Therapy is my favorite amp of all time. Buy it, get to know it, and you will love it forever.

You just sold me on it. The "hard" sounding of notes, the lack of volume versatility, etc...every point you made were my bigger issues cause I love the tverb and get A LOT of positive feedback about my sound with it, but for me it has short comings. Time to find a red Therapy head. Therapy will be very different than your tweedyverb. I use to own a early version tverb and while I liked it, it just was too boxy for me. televisual, You wont be disappointed I'll assure you, I sold a very sweet amp to get my Therapy and as I shipped off the amp I sold, I was thinking?? Do I really have that much faith in the Good Doc? DRZ? YES! HELL YES!! and when I heard just a few demos all which were no where close to what I do nor do I play a Tele, I love tele's just a Meat Potatoes kind of guy. The Therapy Will give my SRZ a Good Run for the $ hands down , It could be the new MAZ18 Swiss army Knife of amps... Seriously, it has amazing note Clarity, Note Bloom, Chording tones , But when backed into a Corner Aggresively Pushing it Like I do, It will deliver HUGE! ROCK TONES!!! I think it sounds Like a Dumble ODS But only Better and a 10th of the cost, Glad I didn't go thru with selling mine, Just wish I had a Red Head and Not Black, When I get the chance I'm gonna run the Therapy and SRZ in Stereo, Good Luck,
