I've seen old 28s with different faceplates. Are there any circuit differences in those? The tolex looks a little different as well, maybe a smoother tolex. Was it changed? I didn't have have time to search the threads if this has been covered before.
Thanks

Nothing comes to mind. Others may know something.

I think the not-so-new Z-28's only had 4 and 8 ohm speaker jacks, and the new ones have 4, 8 & 16 ohm jacks? Mine's a 2003, but it's stashed where I can't look at it to verify this. I don't know of any other differences, but I've killed a LOT of brain cells over the last 55 years.
Mine has a gold chassis and faceplate, which I really like. It goes very well with the black tolex and wheat grille cloth. I built my 2-10 extension with Z-10 speakers and black tolex and wheat grille cloth. It would take a real expert to determine it isn't an authentic Dr. Z product.

Only difference I know if the outputs, used to be 4 and 8 ohm, newer ones are 4, 8 and 16 Great sounding amps. Delta 88 was my first Z love followed closely by the Z28 Todd
