I put aside the a/b gear (Cure and Z-Lux comparison) and just plugged in a LP and cranked V up almost all the way. Master was at noon and Level at 10. Lots of solid rock tone in there. Just before I packed it in for the afternoon, I pushed the master up to about 2 and Level to noon. Amp took on a whole new dimension, comparatively. Notes just springing out. I'm thinking this could be a great gig setting. Loving this amp

Been running the master maxed from the beginning. ( A more fullness at this setting ) Setting the volume for desired clean, crunch, singing sustain.... Level for desired loudness. This amp shines in overdriven tones.
Rock on!! Lovin' mine too~

Ok, ok.....so how long is the waiting period these days? I called around to a few dealers and did internet search, found a few the same day, made my choice of dealer and was delivered to me 3 days later. Don't know if I lucked out but I think you can find one if you try. All the Best Save

So, after a lengthy and somewhat irrelevant hijack to Mike's thread, am I understanding that you, Mike, are finding the magic in cranking the MV? It seems in all my Z amp w MV, I've preferred the MV unseasonably warm compared to most players here.

It seems in all my Z amp w MV, I've preferred the MV unseasonably warm compared to most players here. You got it, Lee. I generally prefer MV above noon. Can't get there sometimes due to sound level constraints. (I'll admit to being too lazy to pack a Brake Lite to gigs unless it's already installed in the cabinet.) On the Cure, you can crank MV and Level takes care of, well, the level. For me, the Cure, Z-Lux and MAZ amps all seem to open up with MV higher. Also holds for MV-equipped Remedy and Therapy, but to a lesser extent. YMMV. (Speakers and how they respond to power are certainly a possible factor as well.)

I'm thinking about buying Z-Lux number 3. Ain't no Cure for that kind of sickness. One for every room? It's not even as rational as that. Although I'm thinking that of all the Z amps, this is the one that's going to have real collector value some day.

It's not even as rational as that. Although I'm thinking that of all the Z amps, this is the one that's going to have real collector value some day. One in each color? Collect them all and trade them with your friends? It will be interesting...or would be interesting to see how the future treats Z amps....things like the Cure also might become legendary if sales keep up at the frenzied pace they've been at. It's neat to see the amp that Z originally dedicated to his father become a big seller for him.
