I know Doc has said he has no plans for a head for the cure but would consider it if there were enough demand. How many would want a head? I'm first in line.

I would buy the combo on this amp.
I am a fan of the head amps, but the combo package is so well thought out that it is hard to pass on the concept.
However, I have attorneys in my life and won't be buying a new amp for a long time.

Totally cool with the combo, actually looking forward the grab and go. I have a Therapy and Ghia head already so I am looking forward to the combo. I totally get the, I wish this amp had this or that. But how awesome is it that Dr Z thinks of the people who cannot afford the head and cab packages. This is an incredible price/quality handmade tone machine with awesome flexibility. He did not have to do this, not one bit. JMO, but if people want a head or different color, get one made. Help support other small business American products. You still would have a killer head at a great price! Now that said, the EMS needs a footswitch for the various voicings .

I would buy the combo on this amp too. And mine would be black. 😁 I have 2 amp heads, 2 cabinets, and 1 tweed combo for the record.

I would prefer to have the head version as well - preferably in the same size head cabinet as the Z28 and M12.

Combo is lighter than my Therapy head. I can set it on a 1x12 and it's like a head that brings its own speaker.
I really can't understand how it's not cooler that he ONLY does one color and form at a great price. It makes it unique. The aftermarket is for supping up these puppies. But from the factory it should only come as is.
Entry level. Options are for other amps.

I've actually been kicking around buying a Maz 8 head for around the house but I'm holding out to see if the Cure comes out in a head. I have three speakers cabs already, and my Z12 is very well broken in. Another speaker cab or combo amp is the last thing I need...

Buy the combo, then for a few hundred bucks more contact Peter Mather and have a head cab made - then you really have your options.

I'd rather see him put this setup in an El84 based amp. A head IMO seems to defeat the whole purpose of 1299.00 > Which I thought was to offer quality amp to a guy/gal working with limited funds> It's the perfect grab and go to a small gig or your buds place to jam. Not to mention the Bigger the cab the less you get out of the speaker at lower volumes.
IMO this is the perfect answer for a guy like me giving lessons . Where I have limited range on how loud we can get. Plus I don't want to leave my gear for anyone who wants to jam away. A head would defeat that purpose> If I play out somewhere ,I'd grab an extra cab. Having 2 things instead of 3 to carry. JMO

I'm actually planning my future Z purchases to be combo(Maz 8 and Ghia, both 1x12)-with the cab and speakers that the designer intended.I'm feeling like that's knowledge and experience I shouldn't ignore.

Walt, i feel like the Maz 8 and Therapy are a great set of Amps to cover your needs. i like heavy amps to be in head form, I really like the Studio Cab with the Maz 8.

Everything I buy are head/cabs. However, I's like to have a F-style amp in combo form. The Z-Lux was tempting but something this size would be perfect for me. I'll see how the livery options pan out after the introductory period and if they expand I'll likely pull the trigger on a combo

So far, after looking at the responses, it appears only 3 or so people have said they were interested in the head version! Looks like Doc's original thinking may have been right on target (again!).

Then vote for a damn head!!! I'll give you twenty bucks... Got my combo on order I would "settle" for a combo if I could get red. I'm a business man, I understand the rationale behind what Doc is doing here. The common thread is that most of us who would like an option or two are willing to pay extra for the convenience of getting what we want, which in turn, would help compensate for the inconvenience to the guys at the shop. I don't ask much...

Hell, I want the cure to have built in reverb and trem too (while paying the premium, of course) .

While I can't imagine any amp replacing my Z-28 1x10 combo, I would definitely entertain a Cure head in tan. The price point is low enough to give it a try. I'd like to be the first guy to comment on the fine tones of a Cure thru a 10" Gold ! !
