One of the best things about Z Talk is the decency and civility of most everyone who participates. I think Figaro, frankie and Dr Z, despite getting a little sideways on this matter, have remained respectful. Well done, all.

Still waiting for my turn to try it out, I think it will be perfect for me... I always ran my Z-Lux with the highs and lows turned down a bit!! I can't wait to have the level control which will make a world of difference to me!

I await the Cure in a head configuration. I like the portability of the studio cab (a lot), but I also really like the bigger sound of a larger cab. Life is full of trade-offs, it turns out.

I'll probably primarily play (alliteration!) Z amps until the day I can no longer lift a guitar. That said, here comes a huge spoiler alert: Not all of them work for what I do, and some of them I downright don't like. That's on me, not the amp, and certainly not the designer. That's why he makes nearly two dozen amps. Don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole... very well said. I have a marshall jtm 60 (actually 2 of them) that i absoulutely flippin' love. have had it for years. but there are alot of marshalls that i have heard that i didn't like at all. i've had several Z amps that i sold, NOT because of the quality, but because they just didn't fit MY style. i thought they were all top notch amps. personally my favorite Z so far has been the monza, a amp that i think has far more versatility than most people give it credit for, but i fully understand why it's not some people's cup of tea. i don't care who the amp builder is, or how great they, or their amps are, NOBODY is going to love EVERY amp they make. same with guitars, i have 3 PRS's that i absoulutely love, i think their the BEST, most consistently made guitar in the world, but i've also had 7 other PRS's that i re-sold. not becaus of the quality, but because they just weren't for my style, for various reasons. this is what makes the world go around, different people, different amps, different guitars!

Frankie, Thank you for a courteous and helpful response. I've been playing and modding guitar amps for over 40 years so I know just a little bit about them. All I really meant to convey was that if the Cure just had more low end available, you would be able turn the Bass control up for a fuller sound at low volumes and down for higher volumes. One of the main reasons I posted here was because I hoped that Dr Z would read it and consider changing part of the circuit for it to have more low end. But that didn't go so well. But no worries! Figaro, with all due respect to your electronics experience, Frankie makes valid points regarding the how's and why's of the lower frequency response of this particular amplifier design. I don't think it's fair to expect Doc to change the circuit just to satisfy one person. Again, Frankie offers some great solutions on how you can increase the bass response of the Cure to better suit your tastes, should you decide to give the amp another try. And if the amp really doesn't do it for you, that's cool, too. There's one particular Z amp that I never bonded with, but there are many more that I own that I'll never, ever part with. It's different for everyone. Wish you well.
