Sweet! I know this was designed to a price point, but this is the amp I'm looking for if it had reverb & trem !

how bout a head version doc? any plans on the horizon? No plans for a head version. Just one color combination ultra lite 1x12 combo loaded with a Z 12. I did this to streamline production costs as well as inventory costs. Couldn't do it at an introductory price of $1299.00 unless I made every effort to lower my in house inventory and labor costs. Something Leo Fender would have done. Z

Hi Doc
How long to you expect it to be at the introductory price ?
I could see this amp being back ordered for quite a while.
Looks like a sure winner.
Edit : OK... I just read the page on your web site. Looks like $1299 for the year (2017).

we cannot except this answer. we NEED a head only version also! wouldn't a head version keep the cost's down even lower? I'd could happily do without the effects loop to keep the cost even lower.

With the external speaker jack, can you run another cab along with the Z 12" speaker in the combo? If so, what ohm speaker for the external cab?

Doc, would you consider doing a head version even if you had to sell for a few hunded $ more? Im sure theres a lot of us who wouldnt mind paying a little more to have the head.

Hmmm.....a Strymon Flint in the loop.......hmmmmm That crossed my mind as well! I've been away from Z amps for awhile, but this could bring me back!! Being a home-noodler, non-gigging guitarist, I wanted something home friendly, lower wattage, smaller footprint. Having the level control could give me what I am seeking.

Doc, would you consider doing a head version even if you had to sell for a few hunded $ more? Im sure theres a lot of us who wouldnt mind paying a little more to have the head. I'm one to " Never say never " . If there is a demand for a head version I will as a good businessman evaluate that option.
But understand this product in my conception, was for a nice light, compact, great sounding , well built , very affordable , PACKAGE. Something that will attract NEW young customers to my product line. Make it so they have a FINISHED product, not one were they have to determine what speaker, what cab, for customers who may not have a lot of experience with the costly speaker swap disease. Offer a product that is complete. A gateway drug if you will.
And after it was built , using the TRIAD Output transformer, the overall Level control, resonant lite Studio cab, perfectly matched Z 12 speaker, I said man this really sounds good, my long time users will get a kick out of this as well as first time users.

I suspect we may have wait until after the introductory period ends. Once that period is over, and the model seems lucrative, I'm hoping that perhaps more regular versions will trickle out at higher prices. This is tempting for me but I just can't buy black (it's against the rules) However, I'm hoping that in a year or so maybe we'll be able to get them in red, etc, for 'non-introductory' pricing.

If he releases a head I'm definitely buying one. And I won't mind paying extra for it. I just prefer heads over combos personally and all my Zs to date are heads. I definitely want one of these

"Something that will attract NEW young customers to my product line."
This is smart thinkin' doc! Would love to see a new generation discover the magic of Z amps. Kids like my nephew who plays in an up and coming "pointy headstock" kind of band who would be blown away how much better they could sound and how hard they could rock with the right pedal or two stuck in front. And kids who use electric guitar strictly for ambience and texture...
Maybe do a couple of demos on this amp specifically for those future customers doc. and maybe use some of their kind of players to do the demos (nothing against Baker, but he's more like one of us)...

The concept you came up with Dr. Z is brilliant It just makes sense. I have the Z-Lux and have to admit its the best amp I ever owned. I really don't use the trem much. Plus I am not really much of a reverb user either. I bought the Z-lux because its lightweight and easy to gig with. To be able to have that in even a smaller less expensive lighter weight package. Is even a better option. I like the fact that you went with the Z speaker as well. If something ain't broke why try to fix it. This may be your best selling amp ever. I wouldn't be surprised at all. I feel for those who have cabs and want the head version. Its all a matter of personal preference . But when you really think about it the combo weighs about the same as a head. And its priced less then what you would pay for a head. Hopefully it will sell so good you will end up making it in a head version too.
I can see that happening once this amp gets out and the word on the street gets out about it. Its going to be a big hit.
