I have a friends Rivera Super Champ here and all the tubes appear original. I've replaced all the original tubes with the exception of the 6C10. That is one strange tube, but it appears that holds the key to this particular amps tone. Is anyone familiar with this tube and are there recommendations for a replacement? I see some on line but quite a few are 6c11 or a variant of this style tube that state they are a drop in for the 6C10 (and they can get pricey). Thanks for any thoughts and/or "output"!

If it sounds good the way it is, don't bother changing out the 6C10. I wouldn't change out the other preamp tubes for new ones either. They last a really, really long time. Especially if they are original to the era. My advice is except for the phase inverter tube, if you like the way your amp sounds, don't change preamp tubes unless they blow. Preamp tubes, especially older ones from the tube era, can easily last ten years and more, even with regular use and not see any appreciable degradation in tone. If you get that magical mix of preamp tubes that makes your amp sound good, leave it be!!!

Looking at the schematic (link below) it is used for the reverb recovery, gain stage into phase inverter, and phase inverter. You could check voltages on the tube to see if things are wonky. keep in mind it's designed to run at 120VAC and most AC these days is around 125. Meaning the voltages should be higher than what's on the schematic. schematicheaven.net/fender.html under the champ section. bunch on reverb reverb.com/marketplace?query=6c10great amp, I had one back in the day with a stock EV.
