Hi folks,
I own an old school Remedy, currently running it through a Z 1x12 cab.
Toying with cutting a new baffle for the cab and adding a 10" speaker to mix, so I'd be running a Celestion Vintage 30 12" and a Eminence Red Fang 10" (that came out of me 1x10 Z28 combo).
Thinking it might move a little more air, and tighten up the sound with a 10" in there.
I'm looking to replace the Vintage 30 with something a little less efficient, and toying with a Greenback - would a 25w Greenback 12" and a 50w Eminence 10" be suitable for handling the Remedy, and would anyone care to comment on whether I'm making a terrible mistake or not!!
Thanks!

I wouldn't, get a cab made if you want to go that route.

It seems like a lot of work to add a speaker. First off, a greenback is going to sound a lot different than a V30.
If you want to move more air, I suggest a 2x12 cabinet (buy a used one) with the V30 & G12H combination. They're both 100db (loud) speakers.
And I'd keep the 1x12 cabinet, but put the greenback in there for low volume gigs. You can run the Remedy on 1/2 power.
...and I've rarely heard of anyone asking to move more air (want louder) for a Remedy on full power with no master volume. -----------------
I just reread your post. At one point, you're saying you want to move more air then you say you want to replace the V30 with something less efficient.

I may not have used the term "move a little more air" correctly, but what I meant was having 2 speakers will perhaps give the amps a more open sound...

I may not have used the term "move a little more air" correctly, but what I meant was having 2 speakers will perhaps give the amps a more open sound... "open sound" is rather subjective. It can mean different things to different people. (Like talking about different overdrive pedals) But I still think trying to add a 10" speaker by cutting a new baffle is a difficult pursuit. What if you don't like it? Then you're stuck with a modified cabinet which will reduce it's value. Is your current cabinet open or closed back? If closed, perhaps you want an open back?
