I usually play on low channel at volume at noonish during last setting alot of volume was lost and I nvr really noticed til band mate said due to my in ears... I switched to high and it seems to be all there is had to turn down... I swapped out the el84s for extras and it's the same problem... any ideas??

Have you tried cleaning the low input with contact cleaner?

Have you tried cleaning the low input with contact cleaner? I will try, so you don't think it's a tube issue? It's a toggle switch not a 1/4"

check the first preamp tube.....i have had the same thing happen

Also try wiggling your cord where it's plugged into the amp jack while strumming. I had a similar problem, replaced tubes etc... and found the 1/4" jack on the amp had gone bad but worked fine on the high gain switch setting. Probably someone stepped on my cable at some point. I replaced the plastic jack with a standard 1/4" metal Switchcraft jack and no problems since.

I had a bad solder joint on my input jack, my own fault when I replaced the jack.
