Had my first gig with the Ghia and it didn't disappoint. I did have quite a scare tho. We were playing in an old Irish pub and during our quick little soundcheck a squealing, siren like noise started coming from my speaker. Totally freaked me out because first thing I'm thinking, something is wrong with my amp. Broke out my little backup Micro Terror and it was still happening. Long story short, after trouble shooting my rig it was my Volto power supply. Once I went straight into the amp everything was fine. I used a One Spot and my Direct Drive as my only pedal on the gig, had a great night from there. This was last weekend and I've been playing the amp at home all week with no issues. dburns255, Was that the first time you used the Volto with the Ghia? I am looking at an unrelated noise issue

No, not the first time. I used it for several hours, at home and at rehearsal, with no issue. The incident at the gig was the first problem I had with the Volto in the year or so I've had it. Like I said, everything has worked fine since. It was strange.
I also have a PT2 with a Voodoo Lab PP2+ supply mounted underneath. Didn't have that with me, but that won't happen again.

The biggest "problem" I've had gigging with Z amps is having to keep them on a leash volume wise. I've not encountered that issue with a Volto. Weird. Thumbs up on the 1Spot as backup.

Two weeks ago some friends played at a club by Folsom Prison and the pedal board was making noise. One of the guys pulled out a Plug Tester to find that the ground was wired incorrectly, with two options on wiring the wrong options could be absolute danger to everyone and everything. Yikes. I am wondering if you had power with some sort of interference. 1Spot !

Yea that's crazy. I'm far from qualified to diagnose what it was, but just from sheer process of elimination it had to be something with their wiring.

6 months later and I love this amp even more. Sold off my Mesa Mark v25 and my Fender '68 Custom Deluxe, just didn't have use for them anymore. They're both very good amps in their own right, just not as good as the Ghia...for my needs at least.
Problem is now I'm down to just one amp, and despite selling the other two amps, I can't really afford, or justify spending on another Z right now. Looking to buy an AC10 as a backup in the meantime until I can swing another Z...maybe a Cure or Ghia combo, we'll see.
