Well, not quite yet. I started liquidating some gear today to fund the purchase of a MAZ 8. My 5E3 clone and a couple of pedals went today. I'm anticipating moving in a few years, maybe even to an RV, so I need to downsize in addition to just wanting an 8. I might let the MAZ 18 go also but that is going to be hard to do until after I get the "8".
I have a question for those of you that have both. Volume aside, does the "8" sound enough like the "18" to where I won't miss it?

Yes, especially with the new MV. Makes a huge difference at lower volumes.

I placed an order yesterday for a MAZ 8 1x12 lightweight combo. Red and tan. Humbucker says 6-8 weeks until delivery.

Hope it's got the new master...probably does with that much lead time. You're going to love this amp, it's got lots of tools in it's box.

Humbucker assured me that it will be the new model.

It's finally here. I have to run the Master WFO and use the Lo input to have the kind of headroom I'm used to with the 18. I A/B'd the installed Z-12 and the Gold I have in my 18 and the Gold won. The top end of the two was very similar but the Gold has more girth in the low end without being boomy. It just seems to be my favorite all around speaker and I have a spare gathering dust. May as well use it. I can see why people like the Z-12 though; especially since it costs 1/3 of the Gold. OK, I know the Z-12 isn't broken in yet. I'll do that eventually and compare them again sometime.
Mine is in a lightweight full size combo cab and it weighs 40.4 pounds. It's very manageable, even for an old guy like me. I'm very glad I ordered it that way.
I haven't had a chance to try the Triode mode yet.
I can see this is going to be perfect for church. No need for an attenuator. The Master works great. It will need re-amping for me to be able to use it elsewhere.
All in all it's a keeper.

I've tried the Gold, Creamback, G12h30, and an ET65. They all sounded great for what I use it for. Just make certain you carry a spare power amp tube! Congrats on a great amp.

I always carry spare tubes and fuses. It's a guaranty that I will never need them. At least that's how that seems to work for me.

Master WFO isn't really the same as it is with push pull amps. It's not exactly like taking the Master out of the equation. Experiment!!

Congrats bro!
I just got to use my Maz 8 in church for the first time this past Sunday. I ran it in Pentode with volume between 11 and 1'oclock, and the master at about noonish.
I had no pedals, as my pedalboard is currently completely dismantled (long story). So, I just ran the LP straight into the Maz. Wow! What an amp! I got so many compliments on my tone. I just sat perfectly in the mix. When I needed it to really be heard for a lead, it was totally there.
That's what I love about the Maz amps. They seem to almost magically find a sweet spot in the band, but when you need to really be heard, there's a certain "impoliteness" and attitude they possess that comes through with a perfect authority.

Happy for you, zpilot...Love your comment about how carrying a spare set of tubes and a couple of fuses ensures that you'll never need them. So true. Problems always arise when we're not prepared.
