Great job, Eric. I've never tried setting the EQ up like you suggest and it makes a lot of sense. Thanks, brother!

I never even thought about buying a Z Drive until I watch this video today. It makes so much sense they way he laid it out. Thanks for the great review!

I use my Z-Drive a little differently. I have clean, crunch and total overdrive set up kind of like Eric does. I then use an Earthquaker Speaker Cranker or an EP booster for leads on each of the channels. This is good if you’re in a cover band and need three different types of sounds. For total heavy tones I’ll also take the tone knobs of my Z-28 from Noon to 3:00.
I’ve had my Z-Drive for quite awhile and it’s staying in that pedal board.

I like that idea.

If theres a "knock" on the Z28 amp, IMO, it's that it has a bit too much bass, especially with neck humbuckers and P90s. Theres talk about Dr Z reducing bass in a potential "MkII update." In the meantime, enter the Z Drive. Its 3 knob EQ is all powerful. It's really "the thing" that makes it great. The Z28s tone stack works atypically; to get max Overdrive, you need to turn the T&B up, giving it too much low end with those guitars. I use the Z Drive to cut bad and add highs, and it flat out works. I use my Z-Drive a little differently. I have clean, crunch and total overdrive set up kind of like Eric does. That is what I hear, but the MKII is on the back burner for now. The Z Wreck Jr has me fired up, but every time I go down and play into the GC, I know I just need an amp cranked up and a couple things in front of it to get it done. The MKII really sounds like what I would like to get if or when it comes out.
Thanks for the input!
