Seriously - this is totally it. I've been trying to get this sound from the neck pickup of a Les Paul since I was a kid. Les Paul > Z-Lux > Airbrake Warning: 6 minutes of wankage - including clams. Z-Lux/Les Paul Neck PickupSettings:

That's a lovely sound, Steve. Sounds like you were varying your pick attack. Were you also adjusting the volume and tone on the LP? Now for the important question: After recording, did you shut off the Air Brake and go for it? Added: I assume boost was off, yes?

That is some inspired playing there Steve!
When the tone is spot on, the notes just flow!!

This is also a great example of setting knobs based on what you hear instead of what you think they should be set at.

Even the clams sounded great!! Very responsive to pick attack this work of art is. With this tone it would be real easy to just sit and "wank" for at least 6 minutes! Thanks for sharing, Steve

Thanks guys. I had intended to play a tune but my playing wasn't cooperative so I just went for it.
I started with the GV on about 7, then turned up after a few hundred notes. 😉
Boost was off. Power amp was on 40 watts. Power tubes were on "sing"....

Now for the important question: After recording, did you shut off the Air Brake and go for it? Added: I assume boost was off, yes? OK I realized I didn't answer all of your questions. I actually accidentally started with the Airbrake out of the circuit - most of my hair is now plastered on the back wall and permanently embedded there. What did not come off my head has spontaneously combusted, leaving behind a nasty sunburn and some very fine ash (with good tone). I >was< varying my pick attack, specifically to demonstrate what you heard there. This thing has pick dynamics that would please even Robben Ford. I almost never touch my tone control on the guitar. I can't hear high frequencies very well, so turning that knob is like shutting myself off. It might actually sound pretty cool, but I wouldn't be the one to judge. You know the saying... getting old is a _______.
