WoW! That was a sweet turn of events for you in the end....great and unexpected for us followers. From ZWreck to DB4 to Stingray right?.....wow cool that it's a rare one. CONGRATS! Lol, yeah... And I couldn't be happier! I really feel the Stingray is where I'm meant to be. I loved the Z-Wreck and felt almost sick every time I thought about not having it, until I got this Stingray and plugged it in this evening. While I loved the Z-Wreck, the Ray is a very special amp (not just because it says Sting-Ray on it).... It's the sound I hear in my head that I want to come out of an amp I own. It can be huge and modern sounding with a huge low-end and chimey top end, or you can roll back the tone and make it very classic sounding. It can also get really dark. Set tone and cut right about 10:30-11:00 and it's one of the best pedal platform amps I've played. This isn't really a honeymoon phase either. I owned my first Stangray for about 4 years and my 2nd one for about 2 years.....So this is how I really feel in the long-run about the Stingray. It's my absolute favorite amp ever and I'm am SOOOO happy that things ended up the way they did!

Figured I'd update it with a more current picture, after some re-configuration of my Ray. Traded my combo cab, brakelite included, for an empty head shell and empty 1x12 cab. Also traded the Gold for a Tone Tubby Alnico Red... Really like it better, especially with a bright amp like the Ray. I did this a few months ago, and have posted pictures of it in other threads....But I figured I'd put one here too.

I believe I'm #17 (SN: 22017)
I wonder how many actual "Stingray" amps are still around? I know Brad lost one or two in the flood, and I'm sure something has happened to a few of the others over the years?

#001 was Brad's for a few years. There were about 50 Stingrays made. The switch was made right around there - I've seen pics of #55 or so that had tube chart labelled Stingray and it was crossed out and Stangray printed above it.
