It's kind of been quite on the Galaxie page lately. I thought I'd throw out some info on one of my new tone experiments. I've been using a 1-12 cabinet (open back) with a vintage 30 with my Galaxie for a while. I've used 2 amps for a few years, but I wanted to go back and try one amp just to simplify my rig. Two amps are great, but it's a lot of work dragging all that equipment to a show. I've been experimenting with speaker cabinets with my Galaxie and thought I'd try my old 1960a Marshall 4-12. When I plugged it in, me and my bass player both said "Wow!". That was with the old stock G12T-75's. So......then I loaded up the cabinet with (2) vintage 30's and (2) G12H-30's in a "X" pattern. We practiced last night (3-piece) drums, bass, guitar. I'll say it sounded awesome! The Galaxie rocked that cabinet! I doubt I'll use it for every gig, but for bigger shows and rehearsals this combo is the way to go for my sound. I'm going to try (2) 1-12 cabinets for smaller gigs.

Thanks for the thread Roger, always nice to hear what you're doing with your Galaxie in a live situation. Those older G12T-75's in a cab like that actually sound really good. I had a Hiwatt cab loaded with 'em. But yeah, with the Vin30's and 12H's that will have some serious solid tone.
