OK this is a bunch of wanking, with fairly poor timing and all of the other caveats. But my Les Paul sounds pretty cool in both of these amps. I set up my Radial Headbone so that I could play both amps through the Dr. Z 12" that came in my Z-Lux. That speaker sounds great with both amps. I also had my Airbrake set on 4 clicks for the whole clip. Usually I put some compression on these kinds of clips, but I decided you want the actual recorded sounds. I have one mic right up close to the speaker and the second about six feet away and pointed about 90 degrees. One is panned hard left, the other hard right. What got me going is listening to Robben Ford play this tune. Dang that guy has great tones. But I'm convinced about 90% of that is his technique, which leaves me out in the cold for sure. Still, check out the tones on these two amps. I play two choruses on the Therapy, and then switch to the Z-Lux. Partway through the Z-Lux chorus, I pushed the preamp volume up a bit more. I switched back and forth several times after that - see if you can tell where. I'll grab pix of the settings when I get a chance. Check it: Therapy / Z-Lux compare

Dang, both sounded great and I had trouble telling where you were switching. I would love if you could some more, maybe a little cleaner with some open chords and arpeggios. Do you run master at full on both? You are kind of suppressing my lust for the Z lux, or got me thinking I could sell the Therapy if I want the Z lux combo.

The Therapy can sound like other amps but I'm not sure other amps can sound like the Therapy ...but reverb and tremolo is soooo nice

Just thinking about this here - now that it's all set up, I could repeat the experiment but have the trem turned on for the Z-Lux, making it more apparent when it comes up. I may do just that.

great playing as always Steve. Your not helping me resist the temptation to get a Z-lux though ;-)

Hey, that was good. I think I prefer the Therapy for that particular stuff and with that guitar. Thanks for the demo.

I find that every guitar has its favorite amp, and every amp has its favorite guitar. Making that all work in a live show can be quite a nifty challenge.
