Hey guys, I know there has been threads about this before. I started one a while back about what tube to replace the Winged C EF86, mainly because I didn't have access to the Winged C brand but I recently scored a small stash of Amperex Bugle Boy EF 86's and I have to tell you what a difference in tone and response from my M12. I've always been impressed with my M12 and I've heard about how good NOS tubes are ( I've used NOS el84's in other amps) but the difference these Bugle Boys make is impressive. Maybe there are better ones such as mullards etc,, but these are worth checking out if you have an M12 or another Z that requires an ef86
