I'm pleased with the eqbypass, sometimes it can be too loud depending on settings.
Have people experience with comparing a booster upfront? Something like a RC Booster? As it has a gain and volume control. With the gain set high can you get a bit of hair with the amp set clean? I guess it adds some nice saturation when the amps volumes are past 2 o'clock? Lots more sustain?
I know the 2016 eq bypass pedal has the volume control on the side... but not sure if that will add a ton more volume or gain at certain settings. The RC booster seems quite versatile against the eq if it can add more gain when needed.

I've had an RC on my board for years. It'll do everything you are speaking of. The tone controls really help shape the sound even further. Terrific pedal IMHO.

The footswitch with vol control will reduce the amount of gain from engaging the bypass. It's a passive function and can't add more volume.
When I don't want the full-on from the bypass I've been using the RYRA Klone as a (nearly) clean boost. It's great for that.

You might also want to look at the Z Drive pedal - has a clean boost side and an overdriven side.

Cheers! I'll look into them.
Dr z drive.... Does it sound transparent? Cleans up with with guitar volume? Work well with the remedy and dr z lux?

I haven't plugged it into the Remedy, but I have no reason to think it wouldn't be good. I'd amend Mike's (jaguarguy) Z Drive statement just a tad: both sides are true ODs, but by keeping the gain at min you can get a clean boost.

You can use it everywhere. It makes a 3 channel amp out of a one channel amp, it can be used as treble booster, it can be used to make a Plexy sound hotter, it can be used to compensate treble loss in pedalboards...and the list is endless. Personally I don't like pedals as I prefer running more amps for different sounds but the Z-Drive is so unique that I cannot live without it anymore

is the Dr Z drive as transparent as an RC Booster?
The Scott henderson RC has 2 different gain stages which looks really good!

Dean,
I found a solution that works for me and my Remedy. The answer to your question for me is: Both. I run my MV around 11 and 10, not too dirty, but dirty enough when I want it. I use the EQ bypass as a lead boost when I am using my Greer Lightspeed or Southland for a dirtier dirt. I use a clean boost at the end of my pedal chain when it is just the Remedy without dirt pedals and I want a cleaner lead boost.
I was using my old Sparkle drive for that, and it worked great. However, I just replaced that with a J. Rocket Archer.
My suggestion is try them both!

just got the dr z drive and its the best boost/od pedal i have tried. works really well with the remedy. i'm going to mainly use it as a booster when needed extra hair. I generally use the amp and guitar volume but there are times when you want bit extra.
looking forward to the next gig! Will have a creamback G12m to test out which will replace my gold!
Thanks for all your help
