You know...the smell of a new dr z burnin in...might be getting that grandchild "note avatar" soon...a big bouncing maz 38 studio/nr...
Been on the fence with either z lux or this...really leaning 38 studio for cab portability

Seems like portability of both options will be easy. I don't know what the MAZ 38 studio weighs but 42lbs on the ZLux seems hard to beat. But if I know genetics I'd guess that two MAZ 18 getting together might throw out a big boned child of the 38 variety. It's more common in the Mid West but I guess weirder things have happened up in the NW.

As a previous Maz 38 owner and a current Maz 18 owner, that Z Lux would sure be tempting. Big bottles, go for something different...

Can't go wrong either way, brother.... Let us know which side of the fence you fall.... What Lee said Although with 2 MAZ's in your arsenal, I'd lean toward the Z-Lux.

They are both great amps, but I I think the Z-Lux has it covered for me, so I'm selling the Maz 38 soon.

My Mazerati has been burning in since '00. Loving every minute of it! Seriously though... My Z Best is from the same year and they KILL together.

I have not got to see the zlux in person yet (or play)...how much wider does it appear in person than studio cab..."stupid question"...I know what it say's in spec but like to know from peoples experience.

It looks great in person, but side by side you'd certainly notice the the extra 3" +/- width. The Z-Lux weighs in a few lbs. less than the 38 in a studio cab! Pick your poison But it's all relative, right? Here's the MAZ 8 SC next to Doc's 1x10 combo.

Z-lux combo is 22.5" wide per Doc's specs. It measures out 'cuz I checked to see if my MAZ 18 Jr cover would fit. It does, with a little room to spare.
