I have a little 1x12 cab for my head, so this doesnt really apply to me, but I LOVE THE IDEA. IMO, the Stang is the world standard for clean tone, bar none-- and a 1x12 is a great format for this amp. jh

Let me remind you guys (who have seen my other posts) that the 1x12 sounds amazing with the Weber Blue Dog and a beam blocker. I have turned the heads of many of the guitarists that everyone writes about here on this forum with mine. I live and play in Nashville, and most of the pickers who here my amp go crazy over it. We had it down at sound check studios in Ed Beavers guitar shop (edbeaver.com) and major guitar techs were flooding the room to hear my stingray 1x12. Reba was rehearsing so everyone was there. Fred Hurst who is Brady Seals of Hot Apple Pie's tech took my amp on a gig. I almost had to fight him to get my amp back. We are playing together tomorrow so I am dusting off the boxing gloves. LOL Anyway, I say all this to say Weber or Celestion, this will be an amazing amp. It's my number one over my '63 top boost with REAL vox blues in it. ...... P.S. I'm not on commission here, I really believe in these amps. Here is mine viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=57158697&imageID=1584363833

Small world...Z forum member rockstok plays in a trio with HAP's Keith Horne, whenever he's in town, and typically uses a 1x12 Stang Ray...although last week he found it too loud in the venue they played and used a 15w combo. Sounds like the Stang Ray is infiltrating HAP from all angles!

Hah! Small world isn't it. Keith plays with a bunch of pros from bands like Charlie Daniels and others during the week in Nashville. I'm not sure of exactly who. His gig with Mike and me in Richmond is usually just a holiday thing when he comes home to see his folks. His homies come out and it's always a great time. He did mention that Brady of H.A.P. was using Dr. Z and maybe a Stang Ray specifically. Keith's not a huge gearhead even though he has some of the sweetest bass gear you'll see.
By the way, the Stang Ray with 2 12s was just right for that gig. It was my solo gig on NY Eve that I cut back to the Palomino.

The Z. that Brady was using for a while was a Maz 38 Sr 1x12. He had been using a Fender Blues DeVille, but it distorted too quickly. He has an old Vox AC30, modded by Todd Sharpe, which he considered taking out on the road, but then again, it's a Vox. So the Maz 38. was a good choice. He thought of buying a Delta 88, but ultimately went for a Fuchs Tripledrive Supreme, with a custom finish that matches his Duesenberg Outlaw TV guitar. Friggin' sweet... Talking of Keith Horne... he uses Thunderfunk amps with AccuGroove cabinets. And Dave Funk is back in business building guitar amps..! I can't wait. From what I understand he's working on designing a 150Watt amp, but I have no clue about the details. Oh, Hunter, I'll give you 2300 picks for your Stangray...

That voice sounds familiar! There is only one guy that knows their gear like that! Welcome to the Z forum! And I believe that was your Z that Brady was using! 2300 picks??? Thanks to you, I have a lifetime supply of picks. I miss notes on purpose just so you'll throw them at me. I'll sell you the new Brent Mason album for 2450 picks!!! ;D

No way, not this'n...she's pretty sharp and keeps a CLOSE eye on my gear, she does not say much but she'll surprise me once in a while. She listens to everything, after 2 years she knows a Z from a Sewell from a Vintage Fender and a Strat, Tele and Lester and if one changes she MENTIONS it

I used to have a girlfriend that could actually tell pretty much what guitar she saw a guy playing. Not minute differences but could tell a Tele from a Strat from a Les Paul. I was totally amazed! Alas and alack, she was psycho and had to go! (of course I'm perfect!)

Alas and alack, she was psycho and had to go! (of course I'm perfect!) Given the right circumstances, they are all psycho to one degree or another. Conversely, given the right circumstances, I suppose they say we are all pigs too... My wife pays not one bit of attention to my gear - it doesn't hold any fascination for her at all. So long as I keep the jewelry flowing to her bod, she ignores what I'm doing with gear. Well that and as long as all the bills get paid and our financial objectives get met. I imagine if I stopped paying the mortgage payment she'd catch on pretty quick.

Don't let the women pay the bills. My ex had us in pretty deep credit card debt ($3,500 sounded deep to me then) by only paying about $50 per month. I don't remember how but we paid off all of the accounts before the divorce and I haven't carried a balance since.

Oh man... I could have gone all month without seeing that. YIKES! After our bass player just swooned over the Stingray last night, there is no doubt in my mind that that amp will be reappearing on our stage for quite a while. But this 1x12 combo... ooh... now that would be nifty!
