I recently have just not been playing my 38 as I got a new stangray and its just everything I love in an amp. So I was toying withthe idea of selling or trading my maz 38 for something else. Its red anniversary with matching red 212 z best cab. I was offered a ghia combo 1 12 with alnico blue... seem like a decent trade or a little uneven?
Maz jr.18 nr. Mrk II studio. Blackout Maz jr. 18 studio/reverb. Blackout Ghia 110 model. Gibson Traditional les paul/figured trans cherry. Suhr classic pro/Sherwood green/rosewood/v70's. Suhr classic pro/fiesta red/rosewood/60lp's. Hgwy 1 series texas tele(modded). Fender players strat.
I would do it in a second. The Ghia is the Docs first amp and it's got ledendary tone PLUS a Z Best, which is a legendary cab. The Ghia is so simple and wonderful and its own thing and different than what you have.
Go for it. Nothing to lose I say

Keep the 38...the day will come when ou will be very glad you did. Arguably one of the best Z amps ever made..it can donanything...have used mine for acoustic, steel, bass, harp, keyboards anything. Will never be without a maz38 again...great amp
I agree, keep the Maz and buy a Ghia head. I have a Maz Sr head and a Ghia head, and although they both have tonal similarities they are different enough to justify having both. For me there's no way the Ghia could replace the Maz though.
