So after spending some time with a newly acquired Dr. Z rx jr., all I can really say is - I get it now. Everything you guys rave about with "3d sound" and harmonic content, etc etc... I don't even know what I was hearing before. This amp is amazing. It's my first foray into an el84 driven amp and I can't stop playing. The thing that gets me is how layered and rich the amp sounds with nothing else but my guitar, I wouldn't want reverb or any other ambient effect because all the harmonic richness is there giving dimension already. One pedal that absolutely killed through it was my Octavia, I feel as though I never really even heard it before until I plugged into the Z, it's like all these micro octaves are coming out, amazingly musical. The overdose feature is pretty incredible too, so thick and rich without losing any definition and clarity, plus the headroom! For such a "simple" amp. The way the minimal eq layout interacts is pretty remarkable too, the amp has so many layers of tone. I know I'm still in the honeymoon period but wow.. This thing smokes

Photos The cabinet has celestion creamback 65s and I'm using various teles with Lollar/don mare/Fred Stuart pups. Rockett blue note to push the amp

Welcome to the forum! Yeah, I have an Rx Jr and really like it. It seems to be a slightly misunderstood amp that doesn't really get the attention it deserves. With all the hype these days for GOOD "master volumes", it's a shame that many have forgotten about this gem. I really like mine--and so do my eardrums.

Yes. The master is the best I've heard. I typically don't bother with master volume, but this one is so smooth and useable. They definitely seem under appreciated yet I'm not too worried, as long as it keeps the prices in reach . Definitely a convert here, amazing amp
