I just tried my Visual Sound H2O in the loop. As soon as I plug it it I lose a little volume.
Don't like that at all.
Is there any way to tweak the loop volume?

I just tried it again, guitar plugged into the low input.
Volume seems about the same.
Billy, were you using the low or high input?

Low or high input, didn't seem to change anything at all. I'll hook it back up over the weekend and confirm this for ya'll.

It appears to be a very interesting dynamic with guitar amp loops. Many people on the THD forum complain about their Bivalve's having a similar volume drop/tone suck with a pedal in the loop, but I haven't noticed this phenomenon with mine with the pedals I use.

I really didn't hear it sucking any tone on the Stingray... on the contrary it sounds wonderful with the Holy Grail Reverb through the loop....and It doesn't appear to affect the volume (TO ME) until you turn the reverb on the HOLY GRAIL past 11:00...
I usually use just a touch of verb (through the loop @ around 9:00 on the grail) and don't really notice any big volume difference... but on the reverb after 10:00 and when I get to around 11:00-12:00 is when I start noticing a slight volume drop.

HOLY GRAIL UPDATE! I just tried it again and THIS time paid more attention. I don't hear a tone change with this pedal but it definitely has a volume drop, in my particular system. It affects how much drive gets to the power section or phase inverter section, same thing in effect. Like someone else mentioned, about the same as changing from the high input to the low input. It does sound very good and with no hum, but that is a real concern. We need a good sounding reverb that also has a volume control with it to make up the volume cut. I thought this was a parallel loop but it's acting like a serial loop. Z may have it padded to allow the use of rack effects thru the loop. I don't think anyone is trying to do that but that's a small theory of mine. What a great sounding amp!

I tried my Visual Sound H2O delay in there and got the same result. Loop volume is the same as the low input.
Luckily, I have an Alesis Microverb rack unit that has volume controls, it works great.
I tried the Stang with my G12H30 2X12 cab and liked that, too. Not quite as bitey.

I tried the HG in front of the amp. Even with the Ray all the way up it's clean enough to use it in front of the amp.

Congrats,Hohn.
You won't want to turn it off once you start playing. 2x12 blues are awesome speakers which compliments real well with Stanray. You have done well for your first "real" amp.
