What does the faceplate look like? Is it the same font and style as the "Stingray"?

Dude how come no one is answering this question or showing a picture??? I'm like getting kinda angry cause no one will post a picture of a stang ray not a stingray. This only leads me to believe that they haven't even been shipped or made yet for that matter. And the thought of that scares me cause I've had one on order for about a month and a half now

I ordered mine on 3-31-06. They said it would be 10 to 12 weeks so I hope I'm at least 1/2 way.

The one I saw was serial number 52. So I assume if there was a run of 50 Stings then this is the second of the Stangs. The face plate is the same except the Stang Ray is two words and the S and the R have like a block around it hard to explain squarish Block. I can not remember if the the words go up to the right or if the are prefectly horizontal. The big difference is the Blocking around the S and R and the two words. Everything else is as it is/was on the Stingray.
And Jake I did answer the question perhaps you missed my reply. I saw one Friday and again today here in Richmond, Virginia. They exist and at least one has shipped out so yours should be coming shortly.

I thought there was only 50 Stingrays, total. Someone else thought 50 heads plus 50 combos. Now that's settled. That logo sounds a little peculiar but I'll take it no matter what it looks like. I've already got my clamshell covers coming from Studio Slips so I'll be prepared when my head and 2 x 10 cab arrive.

My Studioslips covers are supposed to be here today - one for the Stingray and one for the 2x12 cab I have on order. Great minds think alike Billy!

Stang Rays are definitely happening and on the way, in fact, more than on the way. Mine arrived YESTERDAY! That's just the way I found it when I got home... I snapped the pic because I have some that just don't believe UPS would leave such a thing and drive off...<GRIN>... ... Faceplate is different. Here's a pic to hold everyone over... Pics for the Dr. Z site should be shot this weekend, but friends, once you plug it in, this amp could be covered with duct tape instead of tolex and Stang Ray written with a sharpie on a faceplate hand cut out of an old piece of vinyl siding, and you wouldn't care. Doc, I love the fact that you made the logo completely different. Being a graphic designer, I'll give it a thumbs up! 20 years from now, this will make for some great amp folklore. Everyone on the list has got to be going crazy.

Smitty, Thats a nice color combination... he he (note my avatar...) Man I LIKE the logo... now I guess I've got to get a Stang Ray too.... Black with tan front would be sweet and match my black-n-tweed cabs.....hmmmm I see by your post that your liking it, but how bought some thought's on it for those waiting to hear one that have em ordred.... 1. Do YOU think it's worth all the hype now that you've got one? 2. and for all those guy's waiting on theirs... do you think the descriptions on the forum are pretty accurate?? I'm biased cause I've been playing mine for a while and gigged it... WAIT till you do that!! what a sweet, sweet amp... but again i'm now biased in favor of it...there IS NO objectivity in my opinions of it anymore, if there ever was any.... ;D Thanks for your thoughts, especially the pictures of the NEW version and maybe that will help ease the minds of those anxiously awaiting the Brown truck... especially those that have bought it sight unheard.... Jason

Good to finally see it. Can't wait for my Stanger! When did you order yours? Knowing that may help me judge when mine will show.

Sorry I guess I'm just pretty excited about the amp. Didn't mean to sound angry.

Karma for the pic of the new amp, looks very cool.
I still think the cursive writing on the original looks a little better but not by much.
Can't wait to see the Stangray in a red and white color scheme
