Hey, I just have a question about when exactly the next batch is going to be shipped and actually to where? I ordered my stang about 5 weeks ago from guitar resurrection in Austin Tx. They said that they had just ordered it a few days before I came in. I know the reputation that Z has and I also know what sound I like. So as soon as I heard about the idea of this amp I sold the vox I owned and a es 335 gibson to get one. I like to blend sounds and I also own an orange ad30tc combo thats really been good to me. I love the topend sparkle of both vox and orange but the orange has a little more lowend to it and the vox catches the highs. I'm pretty convinced that these sounds really work well together and that this amp is just going to kill, for the type of sound my band is going for
Anyways, the amp is paid for just waiting...

jakelefler, Welcome to the forum! I just wanted to let you know that SADLY one the guy's at DR Z amps (Wolfgang "Kurt" Bommersbach) passed away a few weeks back. I did not have the pleasure of knowing him but from the response of guy's who did and knowing what kind of guy DR Z is he must have been a GREAT GUY, good friend and the kind of person you WANT to work with.... a note from Doc at his website: www.drzamps.com/That being said, and how important he was in the process at DRZ amps, this has really affected the production of the amps and will for a while... But we here on the forum LOVE DOC and HIS amps and are behind him during this time, MY HEART goes out to all of the guy's in that shop that were friends with Kurt! and I for one will be patient and try to encourage others to be patient also during this time as some buyers may not know of the loss of Kurt... but to answer your question and give you SOME encouragement.... given your comments on what you like you should LOVE this amp!! and you WILL be suprised at the great BASS the Stangray has too! maybe your dealer can find out how long it''ll be for ya... just may take a few more weeks though.... It'll be WORTH the wait and I'd love to hear what you think after you get it.... Jason

I do understand and did not mean to step on any toes by asking but I was just curious. The guys in Austin basically said it could be there in a week or in 4 months... Doesn't really leave a narrow margin of time. But I understand the trials of loss and that thing maybe on hold.
I will definently post when I get the Amp in I'm get a combo so it sould be pretty sweet and I'm just really really excited. I just got done playing tonight I lead worship for about 600 college students every thursday night in Huntsville TX. I was just really happy with the was the Orange performed and It just has such good character. All that to say the stang should really sparke things up. My other guitar player already has a delta 88 and we've also had a ghia in the past . Amazing tone from both. anyways, I love what ya'll are doing and all I have to say is don't sell out with cheap components like Fender, Mesa, Vox, Marshall, even Orange. We definantly CAN tell the difference out here.
I need a great sounding amp that is sronger than oak in reliablity...

jakelefler, No toes stepped on here whatsoever ;D .....Didn't know if you knew about Kurts passing and just wanted to make sure you knew why the wait might be a little longer than usual in a nice/ respectful way... and also to let you know that possibly finding out when it'll be shipped may be a bit more vague as you have discovered.... Sparkle....I think you'll love the RAY!! Funny that you mentioned strong as OAK... wait till you feel how HEAVY this amp is!!

Heavy? Really? I thought Zamps are suppost to be light. Or maybe you mean heavy for a Z. I have Ghia head and Mini Z - they are pretty light. My Maz 18 combo is not!

My Maz Jr is in shipment as we speak. The delivery info lists shipping weight as 59 poundaroonies. I'm hoping the Dr uses 48 ply cardboard and 2x4 bracing, otherwise a trip to the gym may be in order. ;D

Heavy? Really? I thought Zamps are suppost to be light. Or maybe you mean heavy for a Z. Nope.... I mean H E A V Y ! the Maz 2x12 combo and even my old Maz 18 NR 2x12 combo were a little heavy ( 65 lbs from the Z website but my Maz 18 NR 2x12 was a little heavier than that)... That Stingray 2x12 combo is heavier... it was a noticable difference the 1st time I picked it up ( I would guess it's at least 10 lbs heavier than the other 2x12 combos if not more)... AND WORTH every bit of it's weight for the tone produced... BUT My Stingray head is not any heavier than my Maz SR head or any other DR Z heads though?? I just went in there to double check but it doesn't seem to be any heavier?? Jason

Why are the combos so darn heavy and the heads are so light? Even the zbest cab we have is pretty lite. So I know its not just thick would. Man as soon as I get it and get a road case this this is not going to be loved by me. I believe. I better not only sound good but cook me a steak as well!!! It better do my landry, clean my house, AND take my dog for a walk. And get a job.
