Are these tubes worth any of the hype and are they going to improve tone?

I sure hope not - and then there's the question in this world today if they actually treat them at all.

It seems like our local tube expert Myles has noted no difference in the gold pin tubes vs regulars....I'd guess the same about these. Just guess of course. It seems Dr Z designs his amps around basic and ordinary stock tubes. So I just get the standard tubes he recommends on the website

Cryo treatment has benefits in some items (mostly metal cutting tools) but I seriously doubt there are any improvements in guitar amps tubes. I have no proof. Just my opinion for what it is worth.

Another source of opinions runs pretty deep amongst the audiophile community. If it were to have any merit I think I could believe it more relevant when you are dealing with the bandwidths they typically listen to there.

Any Z I have ever had ran on whatever you put in it...from $9.99 preamps to $200.00 BlackPlates...sometimes the NOS sounded better, sometimes not...lots of factors involved besides just changing a tube. Some I think would sound good sticking a tootsie roll in there. Say it all the time ,after 50 years playing I only keep Zz and my old fenders...well, I have one peavey that I use for steel guitar. Where I live if you want to cryo all you have to do is leave the tubes in the car overnight in the winter.
