Well, after waiting patiently, I got a call from a dealer back east today, somebody who had a deposit on a Stingray head opted for a combo at the last minute. My name was next on the list, so they called to see if I wanted it and I said "HELL YES!!!" Its a red tolex head with a cream tolex faceplate, what a beauty! Gave him my credit card this morning and he had it shipped this afternoon. If I'm lucky, I'll get it this week. Stingray, you complete me . -Greg

That's great news! Yours will be like PDW's. I haven't seen a lot of cream/red ones. Mine is cream w/ the red face plate. Besides looking cool, they sound great too. -Brandon

Tonezealot, Congrats on the amp! That is just like my head. I heard from the Doc that Brad saw mine and requested a couple of red/cream ones as well, so we're in good company.
Curt, I don't understand. What do you mean, "Head #25 may just be available"......are you getting rid of your 'ray?

PDW Saw BP in Huntsville a couple of weeks Ago and He had what looked to be 2 RED/ cream 2x12 head/ cab stingrays.... very sweet looking combo... classy! BTW if you haven't seen Brad Paisley Live I HIGHLY recommend trying to catch him..... absolutley Awesome.... GREAT SHOW!! and I took the WHOLE family, they LOVED it... how many shows can you do that! 1st Concert for my 6 yr old... and really 1st concert for my 16 yr old too ( INSYNC DOES NOT COUNT! Wife took em as I WOULD NOT GO and she was so young she doesn't remember it anyway ! But they'll both remember Brad... Jason

HEY GREG!! ( yelling over the Loud amplifier) STOP Playin it for a second ( it's like 2 hrs since you wrote that last post), and get back on here and tell us what YOU think of it!! then you can go back to disturbin the neighborhood!! ;D ;D We probably won't hear from him until he makes bail tommorrow cause the cops had to pry him away from the amp about 11:00 tonight with everyone in the neighborhood looking on.... all wondering why ANYONE would go to jail over an AMP even though it did sound pretty good ( thats your defense Greg, "BUT it sounded sooo good!")... funny you talk about smiting, I just noticed that one of my karmas went away, guess I pissed someone off. I was one point higher just a little while ago, and other than talking about waiting for my 'Ray to show up, no scandalous post that I can think of . That sucks, smite bunny's still at it . -Greg

No Problem, I got your back Greg.... as soon as I can give Karma again it's yours! ( had to give some to Leftylang for answering which movie I was talkin about I couldn't think of earlier in the day....) I really oughta give him 2 Karma's for that cause that would've bugged me ALL day! Hey look on the bright side, your in good company cause billyguitar got hit the other day again too... you know what they say about great minds.... I'm just waiting for the smite bunny to get me just for giving Karma back he takes away... Jason

Thanks Jason. I got yer back too bud. Well, no time for a full report (sorry Madison ;D), but I just got done noodlin' with the 'Ray for the last hour..............WHOA. I really don't know what to say right now, I'm kinda at a loss for words. Its just incredible. I played it through the Tonker in my extension cab, and it sounds amazing. I can't really imagine it sounding better, but I've got a Celestion Blue coming this week that I plan on pairing with a G12H30 and I can't wait. I was worried that the Tonker might be too much for this amp, but this is a big sounding amp and the Tonker is a big sounding speaker. They really worked well together, HUGE sound. And all that stuff about "Piano-like Clarity", couldn't describe it better myself, just a beautiful, beautiful amp. When I first plugged in, I immediately remembered what I missed about my Maz 38, that open, full and sophisticated bottom end, and lots of headroom. But, as I played on and started tweekin' knobs, I realized that there was so much more to the 'Ray. I thought I had experienced "Bloom" with the Maz 38, but the 'Ray just opens up like a rose, just incredible clean and clear swell and sustain. I'm mostly stunned by how beautifully the preamp is eq'd and designed. Any more than a tone and cut knob would seriously take away from this amp, just three knobs to tone heaven baby! All three knobs are sooo interactive, lots of tweekin' for months to come, I'm sure. All my guitars sound incredible through it, but I'm partial to Strats, so I'm smitten by how good my Parker NiteFly sounds through it. Takes my pedals great, I'd have to say much more "efficiently" than the Maz Jr. does. Well, as soon as I get done gushing over this beautiful work of art and try some different speaker variations, I'll try to give you guyZ a more objective and helpful review. I would have to say though, IMO I think this is one Z amp all of us Z-natics should own, no matter what your style. Be it a Stingray or a Stang'Ray, this is just a must have, a commendable labor of love from the good doctor. -Greg

Greg, Your Karma should be back now... and Man I'm SMILING WITH YA!! BIG TONE huh!! Can't wait to hear the full report! Point it South East and crank that mutha, I'll be listening..... hey if we ALL played our Stingrays at one time in the opposite direction the earth is spinning you think we could change the tides or something, maybe time travels possible?? course bluzsteel could probably stop the earths rotation all by himself with that TOWER of his... But do YOU have to get em up to 88 mph... or just 44 mph each since you've got 2 Stingray's!!

I think Ahnold shzwarzzenhagger would have a hard time picking up BOTH Stingray's... not 88mph but more like 88 LB's EACH!! ummm, Arun... WHERE exactly are you holding that flux capacitor... errr, ...umm, ....cause you know it gets hit by lightning don't ya!!! Ouch!! thats an Adjective!

Man thats a cool color combo... so classy looking.... I love the red a tan... really reminds me of a red 50's 'vette with the tan interrior... and that tan 1x12 kinda matches it too... might wanna keep that? mines grown on me and I NOW wouldn't want it any other way but I think that red and tan is THE coolest!! now for a red/ tan tolex 2x12 open back w/ tan grille.....

I know, it looks "fast" doesn't it ;D. I was thinking about selling the combo and cab and getting a Jr. head and matching 2x12, but the "Altar" has some serious mojo, might have to keep it that way. -Greg
