I have been feeling the same way GP! So I took out the Dote and my trusty R9 last week and ran them for a couple hours at home. The Dote still blows me away every time I play it and the band mates just pick their jaws up off of the floor... I love all of my Z's but the Dote truly has some magical tones in it the others do not have, the only issue can be the volume but I tame it with a Weber Mass 100 or a brakelite. I am amazed that even when overdriven it is very articulate. You gotta ride your guitar volume to get everything out of this amp as there are so many tone combinations in this Monster. I think it is very underrated, maybe some folks are scared by the volume or maybe this amp is just one of the best kept secrets out there.

Have always been interested in the Antidote but never pulled the trigger. Looks like a bad arse tone machine.

I pulled the trigger on my 'Dote a few weeks back, so I'm still in the honeymoon phase.
To me, the Antidote is everything I like about old Marshalls. I've never played or owned a "good" old JTM 45 or Super Lead, but I know what they're supposed to sound like (thanks to a bunch of my favorite records growing up). The Antidote gives me all that tone in spades, plus it has that great thump you can feel in your chest when you dig in. The low end is fat without getting mushy. The touch sensitivity is something else as well...you can get it to clean up just by lightening up your attack (let alone working the volume knob on your guitar).
I suppose since the JTM 45 was influenced by the Bassman circuit, I can see that comparison. Either way, this is one beast of an amp.

That is how I see it, some bassman thus some JT45 and mix some vox as well

I love the videos I've seen with a Strat and the Antidote. I have wondered if I have the Big Boy Pants required to use the Antidote. Been in Therapy awhile as I ponder the possibilities.

You may be in Therapy for a long long time but the Antidote will cure you.

I have been a Marshall JTM 45 User for Many years. I also have a Vox AC30HW with the Celestion Blues but always come back to the JTM 45. I have just ordered an Antidote and am really looking forward to adding it to the arsenal. I Currently use a 2x12 Vox Cabinet which is Birch and has the Celestion Golds for the JTM 45 and will try that with the Antidote for awhile. I really like the features of Blended channels as I normally jump the channels, but the other incremental feature is 1 inventory of Tubes as they both have the same ones.It may be me but I find that the KT 66 tubes are less prone to microphonics than the el84's and seam to last longer. Once I have played it for awhile I will give my review. Main guitars are a Gibson Les Paul Custom and a Fender American Deluxe Thinline. From Buck Owens to Motorhead..it's all Good!

I look forward to your review. I haven't found a cab that didn't sound good with the Dote. Even my Dr. Z 4x10 cab absolutely smokes with the Dote

I have been playing with the Antidote for a few months now. I initially ran it through a 2x12 cabinet with celestion golds and a 4x12 with green backs. I eventually settled with The Doc's 4x10. This compliments the amp nicely. Whether I use the Les Paul or Telecaster they both shine through the amp with this set up. Clarity, presence and a thump that needs to be felt!. Pedals sound good through this amplifier as well. It can be Loud, I use a screen (clear sonic) and that works well especially if you are on an elevated stage. I play in a classic rock / pop band and this set up covers Buck Owens to Motörhead like a hot knife through Buttah! Cheers.

I forgot to mention that the Antidote has it's own sound, it does not "taste like chicken". The Doc has come up with a recipe that suits a wide variety of music styles. I do believe that the search is over. Cheers.
