Hey Gents
Its been a while since Ive been gigging with a Z. Ive had a love hate relationship with my Maz Jr, and always felt I let my Rx Jr and z28 get away for stupid reasons.
Anyway, Im thinking of coming back. Could you guys help re-educate me on the RxJr again? This will be my only amp (other than the Ta-15 head which is my back up). I always seem to be more in the AC-type camp, and that rock tone in my head is cranked AC or Marshall type tones. I like fender cleans, but not enough for me to just get a DRRI type amp.
Anyway, I gig once a month and usually am doing classic rock - to - alt/indie - to punk type songs. Usual songs in our list have been from Ramones to Foo Fighters to Social Distortion to Pearl Jam....and then some Beatles, Petty, Billy Idol, Bowie to some funky stuff. Don't think I need, nor ever stayed with, spanky clean tones. I like pedals, but trying to just keep a timmy, TS type and boost on the board. When I write, I seem to have more of that modern country type grit, but I am not a chicken picker....more along a WILCO type tone. and then, will usually noodle with some surf tones.
Id most likely grab a head and then a 2x12 for bigger applications, and then just a 1x12 for rehearsals and the majority of the small to medium clubs we play. Im only unmic'd once or twice a year.
Would this be enough volume for me? Would this be way too stiff (unforgiving) of an amp? I think this amp can definitely hit all my styles
Thanks for the help!!!

I’ve played a lot of gigs with my rxjr and the only volume problem I’ve ever had was that I was too loud. I used an Air Brake with it. Sounds great (to me) through a Blue and a G12H30. Chime and low end grunt.
