I got together with the guys from my high school band on Sunday. We haven't played together in years, and I'm the only one who currently plays out with any regularity. It was lots of fun cranking out some of the old tunes. The other guitarist brought a 4 x 12 cab, a Crate head and four guitars. He wanted the clean headroom of the solid-state Crate as he was using a Line 6 floor board. (He has other nicer amps, including some boutique gear.). After the other guys left, he and I played with guitars and decided to plug my MAZ 8, which I used for our session, into the 4 x 12. Not surprisingly, the tone blew the Crate away. It was also surprisingly loud, especially after I clicked off the Brake Lite! Long story short: Steve may now be in the market for a MAZ 18 (I thought the 18 would be more versatile for him than the 8.)

Yep. That will do it every time! Years ago before I stared using Zs, I played with a guy who had a high wattage solid state Vox. I brought my Victoria Deluxe and blew him out of the building. I can only imagine what it would have been with a Maz Jr.
