Well, after a long day of running errands with the wife, I finally got time to give the Remedy a good workout in an empty house. I hooked it up first to my Bogner Cube with a Greenback, then to an open back 1x12 Divided by 13 cab with a V30 and then a G12h Heritage 55 c/s, then I ran them both together with the GB and the V30. I used 1/2 and full power with a stock Classic 50's Baja tele.
My first thought was that there wasn't a bad tone in the thing. I could make any speaker on any amp setting sound great, though I liked the GB the best. My second thought was how easy it was to dial it it. I am 100% positive that I could gig with this amp and not use one overdrive pedal if I had to (but I love my Greer Lightspeed and it sounded awesome when I used it!) the crunch tone is that good. It cleans up real well when you roll the volume back or use a lighter touch.
It definitely nails the AC/DC tone, especially with the Greenback in the Bogner, but I was surprised that I could get a convincing Brad Paisley tone out of it by simply adding a bit of echo and some compression and adjusting my attack or rolling back the volume on my gitfiddle. The Remedy leaves me with the impression that I could EASILY make this work in my country rock cover band.
The EQ bypass on the other hand, wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be. It does give a great volume boost, but the tone wasn't exactly what I wanted. However, I have learned that lead tone that sounds good in my house never sounds great live. So I am not too worried about it. I have been on the other side of the stage many times when the EQ on this amp was bypassed and it cut through and sounded great.
The thing about it is I have two (2) Bogner cubes and I think the amp would sound great with both of them. Tomorrow, I am going to stick the V30 in one of them and run them together to see how that sounds.
Thanks for the help guys!
