Just home after a 2-hour gig at a campground a 90-minute drive away. I was unsure what setup to bring given that the stage was basically a tractor trailer with the side cut out. I ended up bringing my Interstate and an open back cabinet with a single creamback. With my Brake Lite on 2 clicks and some select boosting I got the most glorious live tones I can recall. I just wish my playing was on par with the tone. I liked it so much I'm almost questioning whether I should unload my Maz 18. Well not really, but still the Route 66 is such a great amp I could be happy with it as my only amp.

What kind of geetar were you using?
And were there any problems with the open back?

What kind of geetar were you using? And were there any problems with the open back? Mostly my tele with a few songs on my strat. My fears about the open back causing issues were washed away immediately. I have to say that it was one of the better sounding stages I've been on - I was really surprised. Settings were treble-12:00, bass-2:00, volume-11:00. Playing my strat was kinda fun since I haven't played that guitar on stage since my first gig about 25 years ago. I brought it back from the dead as a vehicle for a piezo-equipped electric since I really hated having to deal with an acoustic guitar for 3 songs. I had the Graphtec Ghost system installed and it sounds as good if not better than my acoustics did when amplified. I use a stereo cord to send the magnetic pickup signal to my Z and the piezo to the board.
