One of my students (Peaveyt60player here on the forum) came by and played his JAZ next to my new Zlux. Really close sounding....but different. The JAZ is first.

Yup, pretty close, even with different speakers and cabs. Clever of you to move the extra weight to your apprentice, Jedi

Very similar. The JAZ sounds like it has a bit more bass, and I'm hearing a good bit more 'verb on the JAZ, too--don't know if that's due to settings or the 'verb itself. The bass thing could be due to the speaker.

I think that the sonic differences were much more apparent in the room. The JAZ and Z Lux, while booth scooped mid amps, live in kinda different spots in the mids- Z Lux more lower mid, JAZ in the upper part. I have yet to decide which I like better- even in the video I can hear that the Z Lux is more "vintage sounding" which I like, but the touch more "modernness" to the JAZ could be the difference between being heard in a band mix or not.

I could hear some differences running the JAZ into the Z-Lux speaker/cab, even after tweaking the controls to get the amps quite close sonically.
