Having not been inside of an "Interstate" 66 and knowing that there are some that were modified with extra power supply filtering, I'm wondering if the photo below indicates such a modification? Also curious about the duct tape?

Heh...just had a "duh" moment. I pulled the chassis on my '09 Route 66 and see the added capacitors. Should have thought of that before posting.

I also wanted to mention the first chassis shot is of an the Interstate 66 SN: I-10005. You'll see a photo of it in a post below by demorior. Stephen and I talked over the last several days and I decided I needed this amp. I've been playing my '09 for nearly 10 years and have always loved the way it sounded. It was Mike Fuller who encouraged me to get a Route and I've always had an itch for an Interstate...and now this one is inbound. Who cares about ghost notes...TURN IT UP! (-:

A short, post-gig update. The amp landed and was biased a bit cool. I lit the fire to 36ma and took it to two outdoor gigs over the weekend, both through my old "Narshall" 4x12 loaded with greenbacks. Night #1 I set it on top of my '09 Route just-in-case. The amp performed flawlessly...sounded wonderful. Night #2 I turned off all my drive pedals and opened her all the way up. Pure heaven with the Tele! "Oh my" are the two best words to describe the sound!

I have a guess on the duct tape - and it's just a wild stab - but a previous owner may have been hearing a rattle or vibration coming from inside the chassis. You know how certain notes will get something going with a sympathetic vibration. They might have added those pieces of duct tape to deaden such a rattle.
Best, Eddie
