I recently got a Therapy and played it last night for just the 2nd time. Really enjoyed it using an ASAT thru a 1x12 cab w/Celestion Gold. I set it to play mostly clean, worked the guitar volume knob and added a clean boost for a couple of leads.
I also am the proud owner of a new BLONDE THERAPY that I acquired about 3 weeks ago! Everyone that has commented about how the Therapy comes to "LIFE" when you get the master volume up to 1 o'clock and beyond is absolutely correct! I had a brand new Suhr Badger 30 head and wasn't happy with the lower to medium volume levels and my brand new Suhr Classic Pro was pretty uninspiring unless I had the gain cranked moderately high as well as the power scaling! I heard some clips of the Z-Therapy and immediately was impressed with the full articulate clean tones that I was hearing even at the lower end of the volume range! Well I traded the brand new Suhr Badger 30 for the Z-Therapy and I have to give my "CONGRATS" to Dr. Z and the rest of the crew for building what I believe is one of the best sounding 6L6 based amps available! The Therapy really trumped the Suhr Badger 30 in terms of big full punchy clean tones as well as the very rich "American Overdriven" tones that are in abundance with this amp!Lots of clean headroom which is always a "PLUS" with STRATS,TELES and guitars with Humbuckers as well! I couldn't be happier with the Therapy and I'm very happy that I did some research and starting looking into the Therapy as an alternative to the Suhr Badger 30!Just for the record I've owned 7 different Z's over the past 25 years and wish I had kept all of them! :-)
rossco: you don't have to fully bypass the tone stack which is great because gives you room to dial in your sound, it certainly thickens up the sound and adds nice growl/midrange growl. I don't like pedals so this replaces everything for me

easyed: It seems that the only time I clean off my workbench is when I need the space for something else. If I don't take a break, it's less than 5 minutes before that space is full again.

roscoenyc: Whenever I see the phrase "clean pedal platform" I'm filled with sadness about the real tube amp joy that could have been.
