Since I've owned the wreck I've used comfort. Lately I've been using the speed setting. I like it a lot more. Seems to make the amp more open and dynamic. Makes its hard to put it down!

I can't really tell the difference. However, I suspect I don't play the amp loud enough to really hear/fell the difference !

Gonna have to try Speed at the next show. I can't really tell a difference when playing at home, a gig might be different?
Just remember, anyone switching between Speed and Comfort.... TURN OFF YOUR AMP before switching! Once or twice may not hurt it, but the good Dr said this is a big transformer setting "swap" and can possibly cause damage if you do it with the amp on.

Turn it off or put it on standby? I usually just put it on standby. What kind of damage? Would it "blow out" completely or just not sound right?

DC here! I guess standby should be safe enough - unless the good Dr has some unusual tricks up his sleeve I standby mode there is only the heater current that is running throught the tubes. But it's safest to ask Doc he always answers emails - Cheers: Dixiechicken!

I love the speed setting as well. Used the comfort for a while, but have settled with the Speed.

Guy's use the Stand-By switch to remove Hi Voltage from the tubes prior to engaging the C/S switch. Same is true for the Half power switch on the Remedy and Z-Lux, better safe then sorry.

Same for triode/pentode on the MAZ 8? (As I've been doing.)
