My KT-45 was on the shelf for a few months. Now it has blown 3 fuses in the last couple of days.
Every time, power is on and it's on standby with jewel light glowing, then I take it off standby and the fuse immediately crackles. The fuse package says "Buss Fuses MDL-3 Time-Delay".
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
-Andy

Try a new rectifier tube, that's " usually " the problem, when blowing fuses, good luck, gary

Well 99% of the time it's a bad rectifier ( if your KT-45 has a tube rectifier ) or a bad EL-34.
Since it sat for some time try this, swap the el-34's positions, and then re-seat the rectifier, clean the pins of the tubes if you have contact cleaner.
If the fuse still blows turn the lights down replace fuse and watch the back of the amp while you engage stand-by, most often the the bad tube will flash prior to the fuse blowing. You can see better if the lights are dimmed then replace that tube.

Thanks Gary and Doc. Yes it has a tube rectifier and that was the problem. All is well. I really appreciate the help.

I should've added, Doc was right about the tube flashing. That made for very quick analysis and fix.
