Just sealed the deal on a used Route 66. This will be my second Z amp, a stablemate to the EZG50. Should be here next week. Must be patient..,

Congrats, should complement the EZG50 quite well. Give us a report after you have had some time with it.

It is a great amp for Telecasters. Gives you the ability to thicken up the tone and create significant movement in your pant legs:) Just got through firing mine up, and it always reminds me why I bought it in the first place. You are gonna like it for sure!

Well she's landed. I've run it into my 112 cabinet with a Jensen Blackbird so far. Great with my CS Telecasters and pretty good with my Les Paul too. Fat and crystal clear. Unbelievably loud too, I can see the Airbrake being put into service on this. I'll post pics when I get time.

First outing last night at rehearsal. Yes, it's loud but no-one complained, the drummer especially liked it. Whilst I didn't get it much past 9:00 on the volume it was cruisey, like a muscle car idling along the boulevard.
I used my modified hotrod Tele running into pedalboard which includes a few boost/OD pedals, Strymon Flint etc
Fattest tone I've ever had from a Telecaster, just amazing! At times it seemed like I had a 335 in my hands, the sheer girth of the sound is astonishing.

I knew you would like it, and it didn't take you long to experience that girth thing!

DC here!
One thing I think the Route66 is really good at - is the projection of the soundscape.
On stage with a band it seem to me I can tell precisely where I am in the mix and how to reach out to the audience.
Never had this control over the sound before.
Cheers Dixiechicken!

The amp has such strong mids and such a big full sound that you can't help but hear it in the mix.

Howdy,
I'd sure like to hear Keith Richards use a Route 66 live. I'll bet it'd be perfect for "Start Me Up", "Brown Sugar" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash"! Ok, I feel better now, LOL.

Going to see them tonight in Dallas. Been a fan my whole life but have never seen them live. Looking forward to it.

Howdy,
Congrats, Deluxetwelve! I adore my Carmen Ghia, but have serious GAS for the 66's fat tones.

Nice score... A Route 66 has always been on my want list to at least play through. Sounds like heaven with P90s to me. Enjoy it !!!

Well, I've had it for around 2 months now, and the love affair continues. I have a 212 cabinet with. Celestion blue/G12H 70th and it sounds great into that, although I attenuate it a tad with a Brakelite just so I don't cook the blue!
