This isn't scientific, but thought it might help some decide on the Mini Mass. I did a quick test this afternoon, recording one clip with the Mini Mass, and the other without. Amp Settings: I had the vol on 12 o'clock through a Z 2X12 with Celestion Blues, with an Xotic BB adding just a little overdrive at 9 o'clock. The attenuated part is a Mini Mass with vol at about 9 o'clock. EQ settings were kept constant, other than the 3db bright switch engaged on the Mini Mass. We can play a guessing game as to which clips is attenuated. The change happens at :27 seconds in, after the few seconds of dead air. Please excuse the clams, of which there are many! www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=725800My opinion on this unit echoes the many others that own one here. It's great for knocking of a few dbs for practice, live use, or recording. It will not do a great job getting you down to bedroom level. My .02 cents.

Do you have a dual coil guitar you could do that with? The clip is great but very few people use humbuckers with the Ray........Sterling

Both sound good, I'm guessing the first part was the Mini-Mass with the bright switch engaged. What guitar/pickups were you using? I've got the GAS for a Stang Ray real bad.

T-bar, That's a telecaster with a Duncan Nashville 5/2 pickup in the bridge. The first part is the attenuated section. The weber works well with this amp, and I don't notice much tone coloration at all, with the 3db treble kicked in. I love this amp. It has such a thick Voxy tone, but with it's own character. It's picky about pedals, but the BB matches well.
Sterling, Sorry I don't own any guitars with humbuckers. I eventually want to pick up a Les Paul or Duesenberg down the road. Right now it's all teles and one strat. It is rare to find a humbucking clip of this amp, but I think it should sound great with some PAFs.

Great tone and great playing! I like the other amp clips too, goes to show that even a modeling amp or a Peavey can sound really good.... (but not as good as the Ray)
