What versatility in tone using the Drive control. I think I like the breakup in a tele better then My Lentz Croyden.

Yeah the Monza has a special sound to it...It's not easy to duplicate.

Really cool amp. I don't always use it really high gain, but I do almost always have the Drive control just a little higher than the (pre) Volume knob, whether they're set high or low.

I usually ran it the other way with the volume up around noon and the drive down around 8-9. It gave it a real cool old school sound to me...kinda 50's ish. Of course I ran it all kinds of ways but often started it volume up more than drive....tone to taste. I've been loving the Therapy and yet the specific Monza drive tone is one I miss regularly still...it sounded great with the Therapy.

Volume 10, Drive 10, Tone 12, and MV 2 are my old school blues settings.

I remember when you had your Monza Todd, and how loud you told us it got. Knobs at noon, I can see why. And your's was a v1 Monza, without the great m/v that the Doc added.
I run mine more like Stephen does, about 10. But the different adjustments you can make to fatten up your sound with the drive knob, makes this one of my favorite Z's...

I love mine. It's real hard to get a tone that I don't like...the only one I don't use a lot is volume and drive both up at 5:00. It's too fuzzed out for me. But just before it gets spongy it's got this muscular tone that is really fun!

I typically ran all my knobs at noon. Guitar volume to taste I've used this setting in a big club and it works great.

Vol up just enough to make tone .. drive about 3 o'clock .. master enough to control over all loudness and tone to taste. It struck me as being very 'tweedish' . Showing it's class A characteristics? I'm waiting for an empty house to crank it up a little. damn this amp is fun.

I too have been experimenting with the knobs of my Monza head. I typically have been keeping the Vol and Drive at noon and the tone about 3 PM. Don't really take those knobs above noon as I'm not going for the fuzz thing. Never been able to take the MV above 9 PM as it's plenty loud enough there while gigging. If I want a cleaner sound I back the Vol and Drive down to taste . I've also noticed that that amp is touch sensitive and gets more aggressive if you dig in. I've had the amp for a couple months now and have gigged a number of times with it. I'm very much digging it...especially with the Z 1x12 convertible. Love that cabinet!
