Have any Z-28 owners upgraded their older Z-28 output transformers to get the additional 16 speaker out? I did contact the Z repair department and they can and will do the upgrade. I was just curious to hear form someone who had it done. Do you like it? Did it change your perception of the amp?

Hello gfreak just never thought of a 16 ohm speaker out for the 28.

Do you ever use the AirBrake or Brake Lite with your Z-28? The reason I ask is that if you're using a 16-ohm speaker load and you're using one of those attenuators, your amp will be happier using the 8-ohm out anyway. (Except on the "0" or "bypass" setting, that is.)
Just a little trick that might save you from having to spend any $ at all...

Hey Mark I don't use any attenuator. Thanks for the tip!! I have a 16 ohm cab that I occasionally use in the 8 ohm out. I know the new z-28 have 4,8,16 ohm outs and was thinking of making the amp more versatile. I just curious about a before and after comparison. I love the sound of the amp and want to make sure that the change wont affect the amp. The repair department says that it wont but I always like to hear from another player.
